Creating calm companions that complement your lifestyle.

We believe your dog should be part of all life’s adventures, whether that is a run on the beach, a pupa chino at your local café or a camping trip in the bush!

Hey, my name is Maddi.

I grew up loving animals and spent my childhood running around the backyard with my two family dogs Cloudy and Skye, often teaching them tricks and creating obstacle courses for them. Other than my dogs I also had sheep, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and more.

I knew from a young age that I definitely wanted to work with animals after school, and as I got older I realised how much I loved taking my dogs out on adventures to parks, beaches, cafes, rivers etc. After school I spent some time travelling and then started working on a school farm which is where I realised how interested I was in animal behaviour, and decided to undergo the National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) course.

Since completing my course I have been attending seminars, working alongside other dog trainers and working with countless families and dogs so they can enjoy their dog to their fullest potential. I’ve enjoyed many adventures with Cloudy, Skye and Amber, sadly Cloudy and Skye have passed away, however myself and Amber are still enjoying exploring new places and learning new skills together.

At Focus Dog Training we understand that life gets busy, and it can be hard to find the time to train your dog

We don’t believe dog training should be a chore, so we help find ways for you to add training into your everyday routine.

Whether that’s place training whilst you’re cooking dinner, loose lead walking whilst you wait for the kids to finish school or 5 minutes of sit, drop, stay and recall before you run out the door. Training with us will also teach you about enrichment for your dogs; particularly how this can be used to keep your dog happy when you aren’t home.

Whether your dog spends their day destroying your garden or sleeping, every dog can benefit from extra enrichment.
